The 3 Facts of Life

For all the uncertainties in life and in our financial futures, there are three things we can count on whether we want to or not.  Proper planning will help you navigate these things and put you in control.

  1. Taxes

Although we are not tax professionals or accountants, (one of us is married to one) there are some things we understand:  regardless of your income bracket, it is better to pay less in taxes than more, and you are a better steward of your assets than the government.  No one has ever been taxed into prosperity.  How and where you get your money and where you put it for future use matters.  If you are a farmer, would you rather pay tax on your seed or your harvest?  Sadly, most people put a large part of their future income in things that are taxed the highest.

  1. Retirement

What does retirement look like to you?

A wise man once said, “Dig your well before you’re thirsty.”

Believe it or not, there will come a time when you will no longer do what you are currently doing to make a living.  For some, it will be a choice.  For others, that choice will be made for them.  It might surprise you how slight changes now can have a dramatic impact in retirement.   We can help you prepare for the road ahead to reduce unpleasant surprises and give you more control of your financial future.

  1. Death

“The best use of your life is to live your life so the use of your life outlives your life.”

Let’s face it: none of us are getting off this rock alive.  Even in the modern age of space travel, anyone who makes it off this rock will likely die on a different rock or somewhere in between.  When your time inevitably comes, how much of what you lived your whole life for will carry on?  Egyptian nobility was entombed with their stuff.  Vikings were placed on ships with theirs and set aflame.  They thought you really could take it with you.

For the rest of us, there are beneficiaries.  Will the hopes and dreams you have for your loved ones, your business or even your favorite charities and organizations die with you or will they take wing and continue to thrive?  We can help you, not only protect the things you hold dear, we can help you multiply your effect on them.
